How to Get the Best Green Dye in ESO

·

Most players still don’t know about the greenest green dye in ESO. Learn how to get Darkstorm Emerald — the most iridescent, shiniest green dye in The Elder Scrolls Online. You’ll need access to Western Skyrim and The Reach, and quite a bit of legwork is required. In this guide, Spopes will walk you through all the steps you need to complete to get the Savior of the Reach and unlock ESO’s best green dye.

At a glance:

  • Darkstorm Emerald is the best and most lustrous green dye in The Elder Scrolls Online.
  • It’s awarded by completing the achievement Savior of the Reach, requiring the Greymoor DLC.
  • This achievement requires completing the sub-achievements:
    • The Reach Explorer
    • The Reach Cave Delver
    • Defender of the Reach
    • The Reach Grand Adventurer
    • A Bridge Between Worlds
  • The most efficient way to approach this achievement is to complete the sub-achievement A Bridge Between Worlds first.
  • Overall, it should take 3-7 hours to complete the achievement.

In this guide, I’m going to show you how to get Darkstorm Emerald — the shiniest, greenest, best green dye in ESO.

You get it from the achievement Savior of the Reach, which requires both The Reach and Skyrim DLCs.

I’m going to walk you through everything you need to do to get Darkstorm Emerald.

What is Darkstorm Emerald in ESO?

Darkstorm Emerald is a rare green dye that you get from the Savior of the Reach achievement. It has a very bright, shiny green hue.

It’s extremely shiny and metallic on all surfaces. Whether you want to run Darkstorm Emerald on all your dye channels or mix with other colors, it’s a great dye to have in your toolkit.

Where is The Reach in ESO?

The Reach zone is located in the northern section of the ESO map. It’s a small DLC area located below Western Skyrim and above Craglorn. In addition to the overland area of The Reach, this zone in ESO also includes the subterranean Arkthzand Caverns.

How do you get Darkstorm Emerald dye in ESO?

Darkstorm Emerald dye is rewarded from the Savior of the Reach achievement. To find this achievement, go to Menu > Journal > Achievements > Markarth.

Savior of the Reach isn’t the hardest or most time-consuming achievement ever, but it does require quite a bit of legwork. Definitely set aside 3 -4 hours to get this done.

If you want to take your time and enjoy the questing, this achievement take upwards of 7 hours. Even so, the actual activities you need to complete to get Savior of the Reach are not very difficult in themselves.

Completing this achievement will have you run through two of what I consider to be the best story lines in the game.

The sub-achievements you have to complete to get Savior of the Reach include:

  • The Reach Explorer
  • The Reach Cave Delver
  • Defender of the Reach
  • The Reach Grand Adventurer

These are pretty straightforward. Where things get complicated is the sub-achievement A Bridge Between Kingdoms, which requires you to do the Zone Story Quests in both The Reach and Western Skyrim.

Now, let’s cover how to complete each of these sub-achievements:

1.) How do you complete the achievement The Reach Master Explorer in ESO?

To complete the Reach Master Explorer, you have to complete The Reach Cave Delver and The Reach Pathfinder:

  • The Reach Cave Delver requires defeating all of the Delve Bosses in The Reach and Arkthzand Cavern.
  • The Reach Pathfinder requires visiting every Striking Locale in The Reach and Arkthzand Cavern.

The six Striking Locales you need to visit to complete The Reach Pathfinder are:

  1. Deep Folk Crossing
  2. Bthardamz
  3. Rebel’s Retreat
  4. Hroldan Ring
  5. Ghostlight Grotto
  6. Mistgloom Thicket

Bthardamz is a little bit south of it.

Hroldan Ring is in the eastern segment, close to the Rebel’s Retreat Wayshrine.

Rebel’s Retreat itself is a little bit north of there.

For the remaining Striking Locales, we need to go to Arkthzand Cavern. Mistgloom Thicket is here on the eastern side.

Ghostlight Grotto is near the center of Arkthzand Cavern.

There are only two Delves in The Reach, Gloomreach and Briar Rock Ruins. To get the achievement The Reach Cave Delver, you have to defeat the boss in each of these delves.

The entrance to Gloomreach is on the eastern side of The Reach.

Briar Rock Ruins is over here in the west next to the Briar Rock Wayshrine.

Once you’ve visited all those Striking Locales and cleared the two Delves, you’ll be done with The Reach Master Explorer, and you’ll have completed the first segment of Savior of the Reach.

2.) How do you complete the achievement Reach Cave Delver in ESO?

To complete the achievement The Reach Cave Delver in ESO, you must defeat the bosses of the two Delves in the Reach, Gloomreach and Briar Rock Ruins.

For our purposes, this second requirement under Savior of the Reach is redundant. We’ve already completed it by completing The Reach Master Explorer.

3.) How do you complete the achievement Defender of the Reach in ESO?

The achievement Defender of the Reach requires you to defeat both World Bosses in The Reach. The two bosses you need to defeat:

  • Voidmother Elgroalif
  • Dwarven Dynastor Supreme

Voidmother Elgroalif is located in The Reach overland, almost directly south of the Karthwasten Wayshrine at Four Skull Lookout.

Dwarven Dynastor Supreme is in Arkthzand Cavern, in the southern section of the map at Sentinel Point.

With a competent build and Companion, you should be able to take these bosses down solo. If you do need some help, just type a message in zone chat: “WB help, please.”Or, you can recruit the assistance of some friends or guildmates.

Simply defeat those two world bosses and you’ll be done with Defender of the Reach, knocking out step three of this achievement.

4.) How do you complete the achievement The Reach Grand Adventurer in ESO?

Located in the Quests section of ESO’s Markarth achievements, this achievement requires you to complete 12 unique quests in The Reach.

Daily quests don’t count toward The Reach Grand Adventurer, so you’ll need to do 12 other kinds of quests. The Zone Story Quest in The Reach consists of six quests. So, that gets you halfway there.

From there, you’ll find a variety of Side Quests scattered throughout The Reach and Arkthzand Caverns. One good way to get ahead of this is to make sure to do the Delve Quests when you clear the Delves in The Reach.

So, pick up the quest at the entrance of Briar Rock Ruins and also at Gloomreach.

From there, as you travel throughout The Reach and Arkthzand Caverns, you will periodically come across quest-givers. With the Main Story Quest and the two Delve Quests out of the way, there are only four more to do.

5.) How do you complete the achievement A Bridge Between Kingdoms in ESO?

Located under Achievements > Markarth > Quests, A Bridge Between Kingdoms is a lengthy achievement requiring you to complete the Zone Story Quests in both The Reach and Western Skyrim, plus two follow-up quests that only appear when you’ve completed both Zone Stories.

The first requirement of A Bridge Between Kingdoms is the achievement Nowhere Beyond Your Reach, which is awarded when you complete the Zone Story Quest in The Reach.

From there, you also need to complete the follow-up quests Kingdom of Ash and Second Chances, which only show up when you’ve also completed the Champion of Solitude achievement in Western Skyrim.

That’s right — to complete A Bridge Between Kingdoms, you have to complete the Zone Story Quest in Western Skyrim as well as in The Reach.

The Western Skyrim Zone Story Quest consists of seven separate quests. It does take quite a while, but on a positive note, it is one of the best Zone Story Quests in the game.

The Zone Story Quest in The Reach is also quite excellent, so this will not be time wasted. The narratives and the areas you explore are absolutely top-notch, but there is no denying that it will take you a while to complete A Bridge Between Kingdoms.

The quest Kingdom of Ash will simply not show up even after you’ve completed The Reach Zone Story Quest — not until you’ve completed the Western Skyrim Zone Story Quest too.

At that point, Kingdom of Ash will be available from a quest-giver in Markarth. You can pick it up and complete it and the brief follow-up quest, Second Chances, and then you will be done with A Bridge Between Kingdoms — and you will finally have the Darkstorm Emerald dye.

What is the most efficient way to complete the Savior of the Reach achievement in ESO?

The most efficient way to complete Savior of the Reach and unlock the Darkstorm Emerald dye in The Elder Scrolls Online is to start with the A Bridge Between Worlds sub-achievement.

Complete the Western Skyrim Zone Story Quest first. Then, when you’re in The Reach, pick up Side Quests, do Delves, go to Striking Locales, and knock out World Bosses.

This way, by the time you’re done with the Zone Quests of The Reach and Western Skyrim, you should also be done (or at least close to done) with The Reach Explorer, The Reach Cave Delver, Defender of the Reach, and the The Reach Grand Adventurer.

Conclusion

That’s going to cover it, everybody.

Again, I feel like Darkstorm Emerald is the best green dye in the game. It is a little tricky to get partially because the achievement text itself is kind of confusing, but just go to The Reach, do all the Delves, all the Striking Locales, all the World Bosses, do 12 quests, and make sure to complete A Bridge Between Worlds, and you’re good to go.
